The Myriad-Smart™  implant as the name suggests is the most intelligent and well thought out single piece implant for crown and bridge.

DESIGN

The osseous element of the Myriad-Smart™  implant features the Bioprofile™ thread and the Nanopore™ surface.

Also incorporated in the design is an In-plane Switching™ groove that provides a crestal bone lock.

The transmucosal element of the Myriad-Smart™  implant consists of an abutment with a 2mm long polished collar that transitions to a 1mm bevelled shoulder with a modifiable abutment top that has two flat surfaces.

This element can be easily prepped or modified in the mouth by the dentist.

In-plane Switching™

In-plane Switching™ also provides a wider platform for bone deposition and soft tissue attachment at the bone crest. Keeping in sync with the In-plane Switching™ concept, all the Myriad™ single piece transmucosal implants incorporate a switch area that provides a crestal bone lock.

Myriad-Smart™ implants are available

in four diameters D3.3, D3.8, D4.5 and D5.7

in lengths of  L8mm, L9.5mm, L11mm, L13mm and L15mm.

The prosthetic platform is consolidated to one size for common use of all prosthetic components.

All Myriad-Smart™  implants are delivered with a  long and short comfort cap for patient comfort during the osseointegration period.

In case of adequate interocclusal clearance where the top of the abutment need not be modified the regular comfort cap can be utilised.

In case of inadequate interocclusal clearance the abutment can be reduced upto the groove marking indicated on the abutment and the short comfort cap can be placed on.

The Myriad-Smart™  all-in-one pack includes a comprehensive impressioning and transfer system to cater to two clinical situations:

1.Optimal implant placement with adequate interocclusal clearance and no abutment prep required.
2.Inadequate interocclusal clearance and abutment prep required.

In this situation the plastic snap on transfer cap is placed on the implant head, picked up in an impression and the lab analog simply repositioned into the transfer cap to complete the indexed transfer.

Myriad implant system range

Following the impression transfer and model making the laboratory can use the blue castable coping (acrylic burnout)  for a precise and passive  fit of a cast metal crown coping.

2. Inadequate interocclusal clearance and abutment prep required.

In such situations where abutment/crown margins are placed just subgingival and retraction is required, included in the package is a soft retraction cap that can be used prior to impression making.

The retraction cap is simply placed over the prepped abutment and kept under finger or biting pressure for two minutes to achieve the necessary retraction.

After retraction a direct crown and bridge impression can be made of the prepared  Implant abutment stump.

In case the user would like to make a dynamic pressure transfer coping precise impression of the stump – also included in the package is an impression coping for this purpose.

Also available in the all-in-one package is a white temporisation cap that can be used both in the laboratory to fabricate a temporary crown and also can be used intra-orally to reline a temporary crown onto it.

Myriad-Smart™  is the only implant system on the market to offer non-engaging cement-on, straight and angled extender abutment options to deal with angulation and deep soft tissue emergence profile situations.

The angled cement-on extender is non-engaging and can be cemented in a position that can be decided by the clinician.

The abutment head of the Myriad-Smart™  implant must be cut upto the marking indicated before cementing on the angled extender.  A vent in the extender allows the excess cement  to flow out easily without being pushed into the sulcus area. Any re-inforced glass ionomer cement can be used to cement on the extender.

Angulation correction can be achieved only unto 15 degrees with the angled extender.  It is important that crown margins are placed on the implant collar and not near the extender abutment interface.

 It is recommended that this abutment be used only in emergency situations . When the clinician finds an angulation issue during surgery  he should not place a one piece implant as this is a contra-indication for one piece implants.  Since the implant drill tolerances are matched the clinician can place instead a two piece Myriad-Plus™ implant of the same size in the same osteotomy site prepared for the Myriad-Smart™  one piece implants.

The Myriad-Smart™  cementable straight extender can be used to extend the length of the abutment in situations with deep soft tissue emergence profiles or excessive Interocclusal clearance where longer abutments are required.

The protocol for cementation is the same as the angled extender except that there is no need to cut/modify the abutment.

These extenders must be used as telescopic extenders and the definitive crown margin must be placed on the implant collar away from the extender- abutment cement interface.

PACKAGING

All Myriad™  implants are delivered in a colour coded tamper proof outer packaging.

The outer carton once opened contains patient record labels and a double sterile blister that houses the implant blister and the prosthetic section of the packaging.

The outer Myriad™  blister has a double peel off tab, one for the implant section and the other for the prosthetic section of the blister.

The implant section can be opened and the sterile implant blister dropped onto a sterile surface for the surgeon to handle.

The implant section of the blister contains the implant fixture and the regular and short comfort caps.  The prosthetic section of the blister contains transfer cap, retraction cap, impression coping, laboratory analog, temporisation cap and castable  coping.
